Macclesfield District General Hospital – A&E Extension Works
Extension works on the Accident and Emergency (A&E) reception at Macclesfield District General Hospital are progressing well, and on course to be completed prior to Christmas 2017. The extension works were procured through Construction Impact Framework (CIF) by East Cheshire NHS Trust. The trust, which employs over 2,500 people, provides patients across the region with acute services including A&E, emergency surgery, elective surgery, maternity and cancer services, amongst others.
Macclesfield District General Hospital, a modern, purpose-built facility, was erected during the 1980’s and has served patients across the region ever since. Extension works to the hospital’s A&E department were required to maintain and enhance the excellent service and care afforded to patients when they arrive.
City Build Manchester were the supply partner appointed to undertake the works. Despite having to work under difficult conditions, not least having to manage the impact of such works on an operational A&E department, we are pleased to report that works have progressed well and are due to be completed before the new year.
