Client: East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recently procured minor refurbishment works via Construction Impact Framework’s (CIF) refurbishment lot. The scheme, carried out at Burnley General Hospital involved the refurbishment of the Children’s Minor Illness Unit (CMIU) to accommodate pre-op assessment.

Chorley-based D&G Builders and Joiners Ltd. were the CIF supply partner appointed to carry out the works, via direct-appointment. Following a short programme of works, the scheme was completed on time and on budget.

This was one of a number of minor works schemes that D&G Builders & Joiners Ltd were appointed to by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust over the spring. Feedback from our public-sector members indicates that procuring minor works can often prove challenging; here at CIF we believe we can help members overcome this challenge as we have a number of SME supply partners who are willing and capable of undertaking small works, all of whom can be appointed in an efficient, compliant manner.

Construction Impact Framework is a value based socially driven framework; please have a look at our social impact case studies to see how East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Construction Impact Framework are changing lives through procurement.
