Client: Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust
Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust recently appointed D&G Builder’s & Joiners Ltd via Construction Impact Framework to undertake a refurbishment scheme at the Trust’s Harpurhey Wellbeing Centre. The centre is one sever across Manchester and Salford where community mental health teams (CMHTs) provide multi-disciplinary assessment, treatment and care of individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems. They provide a service to individuals from 16 years of age up to 70 years of age with a diagnosed functional mental health problem.
The scheme of works includes a full refurbishment of the wellbeing centre building to provide a suite of 10No. consulting rooms for the Trust’s Psychological Therapies service. The remainder of the building is to be refurbished to relocate the existing craft room, relaxation room and gym. The centre’s Café is also due to be refurbished, whilst a covered walkway will be built to link two sides of the building together.
Following the conclusion of a mini-competition between CIF’s lot 3 (refurbishment) supply partners, D&G Builders & Joiners were successfully appointed to undertake the works. We look forward to following the progress of this important scheme, and cannot wait to see how Harpurhey Wellbeing Centre looks following completion.
