In 2018 Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) appointed Construction Impact Framework (CIF) supply partner, J.D Engineering, to undertake a £250k scheme to install a new chilled water chiller and boiler at the university’s Peter Jost Enterprise Centre and John Lennon Art & Design School respectively.
J.D Engineering were appointed via CIF’s M&E contractor’s lot following a min-competition. At the Peter Jost Enterprise Centre, works involved the supply and installation of a chiller, buffer vessel, chilled water pump, pressurisation unit, pipework and controls, as well electrical supplies and builder’s work to form cable trench and buffer vessel base. Meanwhile, works at the John Lennon Art & Design School involved the replacement and alteration to the boiler and hot water heater flues, including the lining of vertical flues and replacement of horizontal flues and reusing existing redundant biomass flue for proposed water heater and re-commissioning boilers and water heater.
Works were completed on-time and on-budget. We would like to congratulate J.D Engineering on completing this scheme, and extend our congratulations to the whole team as J.D Engineering also picked up ‘Construction Company of the Year’ at the 2019 Wirral Business Awards. Well done to all involved.
