CIF Supply Partner City Build Completes Minor Works at Salford Royal

The Northern Care Alliance is an NHS Group that was formed by bringing together two NHS Trusts, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. As part of the groups summer 2019 minor works, Northern Care Alliance NHS Group directly appointed Construction Impact Framework (CIF) supply partner City Build Manchester to carry out two schemes at Salford Royal Hospital.

The works undertaken by City Build began in the early summer months of 2019 and comprised of two different areas of work. The summer scheme involved the ground works for the hospitals Decontamination Unit, located at the Mayo Building and Endoscopy Unit upgrade works.

The Endoscopy Unit, that is located at the hospitals Turnberg House, was refurbished to provide three endoscopy suites, a patient waiting room and recovery area. The Salford Royal Endoscopy Unit currently processes around 6000 endoscopy requests per year. As well as standard diagnostic and procedures, the unit also provides a number of specialised techniques:

  • Oesophageal banding and sclerotherapy
  • Oesophageal dilatation and stenting of strictures
  • Argon beam ablation of Barrett’s oesophagus or localised mucosal lesions
  • Balloon dilatation of benign pyloric stenosis
  • Mucosal resection of localised gastric mucosal lesions
  • Endoscopic ultrasound

CIF is a value based socially driven framework; please have a look at our social impact case studies to see how Northern Care Alliance and CIF are changing lives through procurement.
