Client: The University of Salford

The University of Salford recently procured a principal contractor via Construction Impact Framework’s (CIF) to undertake the strip-out and refurbishment of the basement area in the university’s Allerton Building. The scope of works included refurbishment works (new doors, ceilings, partition walls), mechanical works (modification to the existing extract and ventilation system), electrical works (new power and data points, lighting and control access) as well as decoration works.

Following the conclusion of a mini-competition between CIF’s refurbishment supply partners, D&G Builders & Joiners were appointed to carry out the works. Works began on the scheme towards the end of June and are on track to complete in early August.

Construction Impact Framework is a value based socially driven framework; please have a look at our social impact case studies to see how the University of Salford and Construction Impact Framework are changing lives through procurement.
