The Walton Centre- Heating Pipe Replacement


James Mercer have successfully completed phase 1 of the heating pipe replacement for The Walton Centre based on the Aintree University Hospital in the North of Liverpool. The Walton Centre is the only specialist centre in the UK dedicated to provide comprehensive neurology, neurosurgery, spinal and pain management services. Servicing an area of approximately 3.5 million people across Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, the Isle of Man, North Wales and beyond.

James Mercer were appointed directly by The Walton Centre through Construction Impact Framework (CIF) and commenced works in March 2019. James Mercer have completed and handed over phase 1 of the project both on time and on budget, and they will now continue their work on phase 2 of the scheme. The Walton Centre has expressed satisfaction in the performance of James Mercer and look forward to working with them on phase 2.

The works included the supply and installation of new LTHW pipework, throughout both clinical and non clinical departments and mains infrastructure. Prior to installation works commenced in the removal of the de-commissioned pipework.
